Body Ecology Diet important for weight loss, lifestyle and most important: optimum health

I had an assignment to research and write about Body Ecology, a wonderful eating program designed by nutritionist Donna Gates. The more I researched, the more I found that her view of healthy diets mirrored our family's own way of eating, especially yeast free diets. The best part though was learning so many new things.

The most surprising thing I learned was the importance of adding fermented foods into our every day eating. Wow. I had no idea :) Very fascinating stuff!

I wrote about the diet on Suite101 today- and the Body Ecology website has even more information if you visit.

The Yeast Beast

I've been pulling out all of my previous information on yeast and candida and deciding whether or not to tackle another full-fledged yeast-free diet. It's very difficult to readjust to eating TOTALLY yeast free.
Summer is probably the best time, because the diet I follow allows melons and they're fresh and plenty right now and satisfy that sweet craving. Ultimately, that does go away, and that's when you feel like the hard work is worth the side effects and deprivation.
I try not to think of it as a "diet" or even being deprived. But the first week is usually rough. I just have to focus on what I can eat, not what I can't
The benefits are really worth it. What about you? Have you tried to eat yeast-free and were you successful? Share your ideas and experience with us!
